Eating healthy while eating out is difficult as you get absorbed by the delicious menus and mouth watering descriptions of dishes. Healthy eating can often be boring – bland food and home cooking is not always the most fun thing.
On the other hand, when you eat out – food is oily and you are easily tempted by a brunch or that dessert. That’s why I am so happy we found Sophie’s Cafe.
At Sophie’s, with such a motto of “EAT WELL, LIVE WELL, BE WELL.” – you can be sure to go there and get a guilt-free feast!
After an hour of brutal exercise at RIVA with the SUP Girls crew, Thuymi and I were looking for a healthy fix without home cooking.
Hidden inside the RIVA Beach club, Sophie’s is a laid back spot that produces a host of healthy food on the menu, including your organic and gluten free options. It has a very family feel with really cool artwork on the walls and even an astroturf feature wall!
We went for the Egg White Omelet and had to try the big brekkie, which have delicious Corn Fritters made with Sweet Corn, Corn Flour, Spring Onion and Parsley served with Tomato Chutney. DELISH!
If you are a fan of sweet breakfasts, they have smoothie bowls, Oat Pancakes, Chia Seed Puddings, Compotes, etc.
Another must at Sophie’s are their Smoothies & Fresh Juices – they are great detoxifiers of the body and taste amazing. We had to try them out and add shots of healthy grass on top of it all! After getting all that food and drinks, we felt so good and not heavy. It makes a whole lot of difference to eat healthy versus oily processed food.
Tips:Make sure you park downstairs under RIVA, its free and safe! Stay for longer – Get a RIVA Beach Day Pass, and enjoy the sun, paddle boarding and a cool pool with an amazing view. Day pass rates are on Sun-Thu Dhs100, Fri-Sat Dhs150.
