International City – Hot Pot @ Xiao Fei Yang
Our friends brought us to this Hot Pot joint in International City. There are many restaurants around the area, but they reckon this one is the best after a Foodie in our group had tried them all! She is awesome haha. Make sure you call and ask them for a room if you are a group. Order 2 different broths and lots of things to throw in! A must are the frozen tofus, #nomnomnom literally. We can’t really eat spicy, but to be honest you still have to try a spicy broth! Just make sure you have your sugary plum juice on the side to wash the spiciness off.
Pricing: The bigger the group, the lower it will cost you! We were 7 and cost us 52 AED each (15 USD).

Al Safa – Korean BBQ @ Sobahn
Feeling for all you can eat Korean? Every Thursday, Sobahn, standing for “good” in Korean, offers a very decent Korean BBQ experience at only 38 USD per person. Beside a Korean/Asian supermarket, you step in the lobby to the right then go to the restaurant on the 1st floor. To start off, aside the obvious Korean side dishes any decent Korean restaurant serves you, you get served salads with sashimi seafood, you can ask for cold noodles and much more. The main course is the obvious delicious meat. Sadly there is no pork, but believe me the chicken and the lovely fresh beef cuts will make you satisfied.
Pricing: We went for the Korean BBQ only at 139 AED per person (38 USD). You can check their other promotions here.

The Dubai Mall – Crafts, Fun & Decor @ Typo
The Dubai Mall can be very overwhelming. I went there to shop at Forever 21 and need to check out one of my favourite shops, Typo, to see if they had Washi tape, a type of Japanese masking tape. I left the place satisfied and bought 5 new sets of washi tape. I discovered Typo when I was in Australia and was very happy to know I was able to shop there in Dubai too!
Another shop you can find Washi tape is at Daiso, the Japanese department store where you can find everything. It’s like a Dollarama for Canadians and Dollar Tree for Americans. (Ah les Dollaramas me manquent!)
Mirdif – Indian food @ Zafran (Available on the Entertainer – Mobile version)
We decided to finally use our Entertainer App so our purchase would not go to waste! We just bought it and there is only 2 months to go in 2015! So we opted for some Indian food at Zafran located the at the City Centre Mirdif. Opted for delicious Palak Paneer, our favourite because of the cottage cheese, coconut prawn curry and tons of stuffed naans and regular garlic ones. Of course going along with Indian cuisine we had to have some Mango Lassi and a delicious fresh coconut juice with ginger and mint.
Pricing: Prices aren’t too expensive, main courses can be from 40-90 AED (10-22 USD). Big grill plates are over 100 AED and are not available to use with The Entertainer.
Advice: We advice you to always ask the waiter first before assuming what can work or not with your voucher. Keep in mind the lowest cost main course is the one that will be granted for free with 2 for 1 vouchers.
