Plan an active trip to Montenegro at the Regent Hotel Porto Montenegro

active activities in montenegro

Montenegro always has been a country we love and have come back to many times. We consider it a beautiful outdoorsy destination with a lot of history and with many options in terms of experiences for travellers. During our UK to China road trip, we had to stop a few days in Montenegro and I personally wanted to go back to the beautiful Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel where I had an incredible stay and experiences in the past.

Biking over the beautiful view of Kotor

While in Montenegro, even though we only had few days in the country we made sure to experience the best of what it had to offer. So the hotel organised for us to go on a little bike ride. And by that we meant taking us to the biggest mountain they could find and letting us ride down it. Jeffery from Montenegro Plus met us at reception and then we were taken to the top of the mountain in a minivan that was also there to support us on the way down. Montenegro Plus were exceptional in making us feel safe as a few people were a little uneasy about the ride. We received our safety brief on how to handle the bike properly and how to communicate when going down the 24km hill. Then we began winding our way down. We stopped several times so that we were all together and also to get some history of the area. It was also a great opportunity to take some epic shots looking over coastal Montenegro. The roads are extremely windy and tough to navigate but nothing a regular person couldn’t do. We were having the best time ever and the the RAIN hit. Going down a mountain with turns and pouring down rain is fun but pretty dangerous. About 3/4 of the way down we called the minivan and hopped in as the rain began falling even harder. They packed our bikes away in the downpour and took us all the way back.
