Singapore Brunches: Oscar’s Brunch Endless Sunday Brunch At Conrad Singapore

We were invited by the Conrad Centennial Singapore to come and check out their Oscar’s Sunday Brunch, an À la carte style buffet, a totally new norm of doing brunches right in the heart of the city during this special pandemic year.

We are usually fans of buffets and having the freedom to pick and choose a little bit of everything, to finally get more of what we like the most. With most buffets around Singapore transforming into other ways to serve food than buffet, we have to admit that we enjoy the positives out of it, mainly the one related to food wastage. By ordering À la carte, you become more conscious about your capability of what quantity you will be able to eat, but also to focus on what you love best.

Located in five-star hotel of Conrad Centennial Singapore, Oscars delivers quality food and drink options at a great price when comparing to other brunches we have been to.

How it works : So due to the Covid situation, you cannot walk around like the old buffet days, but instead you are able to order off the menu. If you are more of a visual person, there is a QR Code available see you can see what you will be eating.

One of the most unique options are the food carts, serving food that is not featured in the menu, but also with dishes rotating every weekend, apart from the cheese cart. The team have selected carts that come around with incredible trays of food options. There is also a gin cart, but due to our fitness challenge, we were unable to taste the delights!

The food delivery was exceptionally fast with chefs on hand to make any requests that you have. It is an open plan cooking style, meaning you can see the chefs perform their magic (only if you sit near like we were), but can’t walk around and talk to them unfortunately. Walking to the restroom you might be able to have a peak at them working on your food!

One of the things that must be noted is that the portions sizes are very small, so are sure you order quite a few once you found you favourite. If you are not comfortable ordering a lot, don’t worry, it is a bottomless bench so you can order many times over. We enjoyed the small bite sized portions but some are a little difficult to share, but thats ok, just order more!

New items on the Bruch menu which we sampled were the juicy Wagyu Beef Short Ribs served with Kimchi Fried Rice and Furikake, Roasted London Duck Chawanmushi and Lobster Mee Sua.

Desserts at the end topped off the meal as well. We were actually so full we were not going to get any, but were convinced by out smiling waitress as she suggested the Classic Crème Brûlée and Pandan Kopi ‘O’ Tiramisu. She had recommended us very well. Another bite sized dis meant we could finish.
