In its 10th year in existence, the 2022 edition will once again see activations of bars across the globe paying homage to the world’s #1 best-selling classic cocktail with the charity initiative – for chosen charities with purchases of each bar’s adaptation across 12 – 18 September 2022. As many of us want options of new places to discover, we want to make sure we share with you the full list of places part of the Negroni Week but also to encourage you to go out and support the local bar scene that has slowly risen again out of the ashes of Covid and restrictions.
Campari, Italy’s favourite drink is leading the charge on Negroni Week, an international charity initiative that celebrates more than 100 years of the Negroni Cocktail, an iconic mix of Campari, gin and sweet red vermouth.
What is Negroni Week?
The annual event invites everyone in Singapore to go and enjoy the Negroni, the number 1 selling classic cocktail worldwide! You can have these at some of the best bars in Singapore and Asia from 12 – 18 September. The participating bars of Negroni week can also opt-in to donate a percentage of sales to another charity that is close to their hearts.
This year, bars are challenged to create a ‘Bartender Handshake’ – a ritual known within the bartending industry as a way to greet friends, colleagues and familiar customers by serving small serve cocktails or shots on the house. Based on its origins, the ‘Handshake Negroni’ functions as a symbolic representation of each bar’s hospitality as a fitting toast to not just the Negroni, but to the return to normalcy post-pandemic. There will be plenty of variations so make sure the handshake game is strong.
